The Counselor will provide individual and group counseling to students, offering support on academic, personal, and career-related matters. The role involves conducting assessments, developing intervention plans, and maintaining confidential records in line with institutional policies and professional standards. The Counselor will collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to design and deliver workshops on wellbeing, stress management, and student success. Additional responsibilities include participating in outreach activities, contributing to student support initiatives, and engaging in continuous professional development to align services with best practices in higher education counseling.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong counseling and advising skills, including experience with individual and group counseling in an educational or similar setting.Candidates should possess skills in student support and development, such as case management, crisis intervention, and creating wellness or personal development programs.Candidates should possess communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to build trust with diverse student populations.Candidates should possess organizational and administrative skills, including accurate documentation, time management, and coordination of workshops and outreach activities.A relevant academic qualification, such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field, is required; professional certification or licensure is an advantage.Experience in a university or academic environment, familiarity with student affairs, and knowledge of ethical standards and confidentiality requirements in counseling are highly beneficial.Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff, proficiency in basic digital tools and student information systems, and commitment to the university’s values of sustainability, innovation, and community service are expected.
