As part of our expansion into Africa, we are seeking an experienced Country Manager – Project Development to establish and lead our operations in Angola.The successful candidate will spearhead the identification, development, and execution of strategic energy and industrial projects while strengthening relationships with government entities, state-owned enterprises, and private sector partners.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Development & InvestmentIdentify, originate, and develop investment opportunities across petrochemicals, refining, fertilizers, natural gas, power generation, and other industrial infrastructure sectors.Lead projects from concept through feasibility, commercial structuring, financing, and execution.Develop investment strategies that leverage Angola's natural resources and industrial growth potential.Government & Strategic RelationsEstablish and maintain strong relationships with government ministries, regulatory authorities, national oil companies, utilities, and strategic stakeholders.Represent Montage Commodities in negotiations, partnership discussions, and high-level commercial engagements.Identify public-private partnership (PPP) and joint venture opportunities.Commercial & Export DevelopmentIdentify domestic and international marketing opportunities for commodities and industrial products originating from Angola.Structure commercial agreements, offtake arrangements, and strategic partnerships with international buyers and investors.Support the expansion of Montage Commodities' global trading activities from Angola.Project Evaluation & ExecutionCoordinate technical, legal, environmental, commercial, and financial due diligence.Oversee feasibility studies, project economics, permitting, and investment approvals.Work closely with engineering firms, financial institutions, technical advisors, and project partners to progress developments toward Final Investment Decision (FID).Country LeadershipLead all in-country business operations and corporate representation.Ensure compliance with Angolan laws, regulatory requirements, and corporate governance standards.Build and lead a high-performing local team while fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and operational excellence.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline. A Master's degree is preferred.Minimum of 10 years' senior leadership experience in energy, petrochemicals, infrastructure, mining, or industrial project development.Proven experience developing large-scale industrial or energy projects from origination through execution.Strong understanding of Angola's regulatory environment, investment landscape, and commercial ecosystem.Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with government officials, state-owned enterprises, investors, lenders, and multinational corporations.Strong commercial, financial, and negotiation skills, with experience in project finance, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.Business fluency in English is required. Portuguese language proficiency is highly desirable.
