Crane Electrical Engineer

Purpose of the PositionTo provide hands-on maintenance services for Quay Cranes (QC) and Yard Cranes (YC), while planning, supervising, and controlling the work of the assigned team. The role ensures operational and departmental priorities are achieved by maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, productivity, and equipment reliability.Key CompetenciesThe Crane Electrical Engineer shall demonstrate competency in:Diagnosing, repairing, and servicing electrical and control systems. Identifying and classifying electrical and electronic components. Understanding the life cycles and failure modes of electrical and electronic components. Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals. Medium-voltage electrical installations and power distribution systems. Generator set operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Selecting and using electrical tools, testing instruments, and measuring devices. Using computer-based diagnostic software for troubleshooting. PLC programming and troubleshooting. Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) programming and commissioning. Planning and preparing materials, tools, and resources required for maintenance activities. Applying Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) rules and regulations. Managing time, manpower, and maintenance resources effectively. Using Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook). Using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking). ExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience in the marine port industry. Experience in the maintenance of container cranes (QC/STS, RTG, RMG, or YC) is preferred. Experience with PLCs, industrial drives, medium-voltage systems, and crane electrical systems is highly desirable. Working ConditionsThe position is office-based with frequent visits to operational and maintenance areas.Working conditions include:Outdoor work in hot weather. Exposure to grease, oil, cleaning chemicals, and other industrial contaminants. Occasional exposure to high-noise environments. Work in areas with limited lighting.
