Location: DFW Area, TexasJob Type: Full-TimeSalary Range: $90,000–$105,000 annually, commensurate with experiencePosition SummaryWe are a growing regional food distribution company seeking an experienced Credit & Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee customer credit and accounts receivable activities across multiple locations.This is a hands-on management position responsible for maintaining strong credit controls, monitoring a portfolio of approximately $9–$10 million in outstanding accounts receivable, managing customer credit risk, overseeing customer account adjustments, and providing meaningful AR and credit reporting to management.The Credit & Accounts Receivable Manager will supervise two team members and work closely with Sales, Accounting, and senior management to balance customer relationships with sound credit and collection practices.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee company-wide accounts receivable and credit activities across multiple locations.Supervise, train, and support two AR/Credit team members.Review and approve new customer accounts, including credit applications, references, payment terms, and credit limits.Establish and maintain customer credit limits within established company policies and authority levels.Place and release customer credit holds based on account status, payment history, and credit risk.Administer and consistently enforce established company credit policies and procedures.Monitor AR aging and identify delinquent, high-risk, or deteriorating customer accounts.Coordinate with Sales representatives regarding collection activity, past-due accounts, payment commitments, and credit issues.Review and process customer credit memos and adjustments related to pricing discrepancies, product returns, shortages, and other approved account adjustments.Investigate and resolve customer account discrepancies and disputed balances.Monitor and report key AR and credit metrics, including: Accounts receivable aging, Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), Past-due balances, Customer credit exposure, Bad-debt risk, Credit holds, Collection trends.Recommend bad-debt reserves and identify accounts requiring escalation or additional collection action.Maintain accurate customer credit files and documentation.Periodically review existing customer creditworthiness, payment history, and credit limits.Partner with Sales and Operations to resolve customer issues while maintaining appropriate financial controls.Support month-end and year-end accounting activities related to accounts receivable and credit.Assist with internal and external audit requests related to AR and customer credit.Identify opportunities to improve AR processes, controls, reporting, and customer account management.QualificationsMinimum 3–5 years of progressive accounts receivable, credit, or commercial credit experiencePrevious supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.Experience managing a significant commercial AR portfolio preferred.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be strongly considered.Strong understanding of commercial credit, AR aging, credit risk, collections, customer deductions, and account reconciliation.Demonstrated ability to analyze customer payment history and make sound credit decisions.Strong Excel and financial reporting skills.Experience working with ERP/accounting systems.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with Sales and customers on sensitive credit matters.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions within established authority levels.Food distribution, wholesale distribution, or similar high-volume business experience is a plus.What Success Looks LikeThe successful candidate will maintain strong control over customer credit exposure while supporting responsible sales growth.

This individual will provide management with timely visibility into AR risk, maintain disciplined credit practices, develop a capable AR team, and help reduce past-due balances and bad-debt exposure without unnecessarily disrupting customer relationships.
