GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION:The Credit and Collections Manager will direct and manage the day-to-day credit and collection operations of the organization. This position is responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable process, managing credit risk, ensuring timely collections, and leading a team. The Manager will develop and implement collection strategies, resolve complex billing disputes, and maintain efficient EDI processes to ensure the integrity of the company’s revenue cycle.CORE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Manage, mentor, and lead a team, including performance evaluations, training, and workflow oversight.Oversee the entire accounts receivable and collections function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and GAAP.Manage Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems to ensure accurate and timely document resolution and billing.Develop and implement strategic collection policies to reduce aging accounts and minimize bad debt.Analyze financial data to identify delinquency trends and risk behaviors; advise management on necessary operational adjustments.Investigate and resolve complex billing disputes, variances, and credit issues in collaboration with internal sales, customer service, and finance teams.Ensure accurate cash application and reconcile accounts receivable ledgers to the general ledger.Maintain updated records of collection activity and prepare reports for senior management regarding A/R aging and cash forecasting.Ensure all collection practices align with relevant regulations and ethical guidelines.Participate in annual audit processes and lead special projects as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).5+ years of experience in credit and collections management, with demonstrated success in leading a team.Thorough understanding of EDI platforms and their integration with financial reporting.Advanced knowledge of GAAP, corporate accounting procedures, and revenue cycle management.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead across cross-functional teams.Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
