Role overviewWe are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Credit Control Manager to lead the credit-control function within a fast-paced, private-equity-backed organisation.The successful candidate will be responsible for driving timely cash collection, reducing aged debt, improving working-capital performance and developing a high-performing credit-control team. This is an opportunity for an experienced credit professional to play a key role in improving processes, controls and cash performance within a growing organisation.Key tasksLead and manage the day-to-day credit-control functionOversee collection of outstanding customer debt and ensure agreed payment terms are achieved.Monitor aged debt and take appropriate action on overdue accounts, including payment promises & broken promises.Manage escalated and high-value customer accounts.Negotiate payment plans where appropriate.Escalate potentially irrecoverable debts and recommend appropriate provisions or write-offs.Work closely with customers to resolve payment queries and disputes.Produce regular aged-debt and cash-collection reports for senior management.Monitor key metrics including DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), Aged debt, Cash collected, Overdue debt, Bad-debt exposure, Collection performance against targetsProvide analysis and commentary on trends, risks and opportunities.Support cash-flow forecasting and working-capital reporting.Identify opportunities to improve credit-control processes and cash collection.Maintain standardised procedures and controls.Improve automation and use of finance systems to support collections.Review customer payment terms.Where applicable support the implementation or enhancement of ERP and credit-management systems.Work with Finance leadership on working-capital improvement initiatives.Manage, motivate and develop the credit-control team.Coach the Credit Control Team leaders to ensure team metrics are met.Set individual and team collection targets and monitor performance against KPIs.Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and support.Establish clear processes and accountability across the team.Build strong relationships with Sales, Finance, Operations and Customer Service.Work collaboratively to resolve billing and customer disputes.Communicate key credit risks and collection issues to senior management.When you join the JLA family, you'll also gain access to an extensive benefits package.
