Credit Control Specialist

THX UK is a leading tool and equipment hire company serving specialist contractors in the fit-out sector, known for proactive fleet renewal, real-time service transparency, and industry-leading customer satisfaction across major cities in England.We're looking for a Credit Control Specialist to help protect the financial health of a growing business. You'll take ownership of a ledger, work directly with contractor clients to keep payments on track, and play a genuine role in credit risk decisions — including liaising with insurers and solicitors on legal cases. This isn't a purely transactional collections role: you'll have real input into process improvement and risk exposure across the business.What You'll Be DoingProcessing sales invoices and issuing monthly statementsProactively identifying and chasing overdue accounts by phone and email, resolving queries directly with customers and internal colleaguesReducing debtor days and overdue account percentages against agreed targetsNegotiating payment plans and, where necessary, progressing legal proceedingsMaintaining accurate records of customer contact, credit reports, and credit limitsPosting and allocating customer receiptsManaging legal cases in liaison with insurers and solicitorsBuilding strong, constructive relationships with THX customersFlagging risk and process issues directly to the Financial ControllerRequirementsWhat you'll bringProven experience in a credit control or accounts receivable roleStrong attention to detail and excellent organisational skillsConfidence with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (Sage 50 experience a plus)Comfortable working independently and as part of a teamStrong written and verbal communication skillsA proactive, adaptable approach — happy to challenge existing processes constructively and suggest better ways of workingAbility to manage multiple tasks and deadlinesDiscreet and trustworthy with sensitive informationBenefitsTHX Values: As a family-centred business, people are at the heart of everything we do.
