Credit Controller

Location: Foreshore, Cape TownHours: Full-time | UK working hoursWork arrangement: Office-based | No hybrid or remote optionSalary: R15,000 - R23,500 per month (dependent on experience)GOTO Group is looking for a Credit Controller to join our finance team in Cape Town.In this role, you’ll look after a portfolio of customer accounts, follow up on unpaid invoices, deal with account queries and help ensure payments are received within the agreed timeframes.This would suit someone with previous credit control or accounts receivable experience who is confident speaking to customers, comfortable working with figures and able to manage their workload independently.The RoleYou’ll be responsible for keeping customer accounts accurate and following up on balances that are due.The role involves regular contact with customers by phone and email, resolving account queries and working with internal teams when there are issues relating to invoices or payments.Key ResponsibilitiesManage a portfolio of customer accounts.Follow up on overdue invoices by phone and email.Maintain agreed payment arrangements and follow up where necessary.Allocate payments and keep account information accurate.Investigate and resolve account discrepancies and payment queries.Reconcile customer accounts.Review aged debt and prioritise follow-ups.Keep clear records of customer contact and collection activity.Prepare reports relating to debtor balances and collections.Escalate accounts where further action is required.Work with internal departments to resolve billing and account issues.What We're Looking ForYou’ll ideally have:Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable or a similar finance role.Experience dealing with overdue accounts and making collection calls.A good understanding of reconciliations, payment allocations and aged debt.Strong attention to detail.Good Excel and general computer skills.Clear written and spoken English.Confidence communicating with customers about account balances.Good organisation skills and the ability to meet deadlines.A professional and consistent approach to following up on payments.Experience working with UK customers or within the legal or professional services sector would be beneficial, but is not essential.What We OfferCompetitive salary.Permanent, full-time employment with GOTO Group.UK working hours.Training and ongoing support.A professional working environment.The opportunity to support an established UK business.Modern offices in the Foreshore, Cape Town.Please note: This is a fully office-based position in the Foreshore.
