Credit Controller/Collections – Accounting Department

We are a growing freight forwarding and logistics company seeking a Collections Specialist to join our Accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing outstanding receivables, following up with customers and ensuring timely collection of payments, in alignment with the company's credit policies.Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor and manage customer accounts to ensure the timely collection of outstanding balances.Review accounts receivable aging and follow up on overdue balances.Communicate with customers via phone and email regarding overdue invoices and payment arrangements.Maintain accurate records of collection activities and customer commitments.Ensure customer receipts are properly matched and allocated against the relevant outstanding invoices.Reconcile customer accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies.Coordinate with the Sales and Operations departments to resolve billing disputes and other issues affecting collections.Support the month-end closing process by providing accurate and updated receivables information.Ensure compliance with internal procedures and financial controls.RequirementsDegree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.At least 5 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a similar finance role.Strong communication and negotiation skills, especially with external clients.Proficient in MS Excel and familiar with accounting/ERP software .Good understanding of invoicing and basic accounting principles.High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Fluency in Greek and good command of English (written and spoken).Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
