Role OverviewThe Credit Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing credit assessment, risk evaluation, and lending decisions to ensure sound credit practices and minimize financial risks. This role involves managing credit policies, evaluating customer creditworthiness, approving lending decisions, monitoring credit portfolios, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal risk management frameworks.Key Responsibilities:Assess and evaluate customers’ creditworthiness and analyze associated risks.Develop and enhance credit scoring and assessment models to predict future risks.Review loan applications and make approval or rejection decisions based on credibility, income, potential risks, and expected losses.Determine interest rates and negotiate loan terms in line with company policies and risk management guidelines.Supervise the review and audit of credit reports requiring management approvals.Oversee the preparation of customers’ credit files and statements, ensuring compliance with approved credit limits and preventing any breaches.Ensure the proper implementation of approved credit policies and procedures and conduct periodic reviews to improve effectiveness.Ensure that all lending processes and procedures comply with relevant laws and regulations.Develop, review, and update credit policies in alignment with business requirements and risk management practices.Prepare performance evaluation reports for direct reports and identify their training and development needs.Perform any additional tasks assigned by the direct manager.Monitor suspected fraud cases related to the company and take necessary actions to protect customers and company interests.Identify potential fraud patterns by monitoring financial risk indicators and operational trends.Promote fraud risk awareness and ensure proper reporting of any detected internal or external fraud cases.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or a related field.Master's Degree in Business Administration is preferred.Minimum of 7 years of experience in credit management, including at least 3 years in a Credit Manager role.Proven experience in the financial services industry.
