📌 Role: Credit Portfolio Manager (Bridging & Commercial Mortgages)📌 Location: Wolverhampton, 2 days a week in office📌 Salary: Up to £70,000This is a company that's going from strength to strength at the moment, carving out a real position as one of the key players in its market while it works through a significant transformation, which makes it an exciting time to be joining. The culture is one of the best you'll come across, close-knit and supportive rather than corporate and hierarchical, and the Group Head of Credit Risk, who you'd be working closely with, is well known for being one of the good ones, approachable and invested in helping people develop. The focus here is bridging and commercial mortgages, getting close to how those portfolios are performing, where the risk is building and what that means for lending decisions and appetite. You don't need to come in as a heavy analytics specialist, comfort pulling together data and spotting what it's telling you is enough, but you do need a solid grasp of credit risk and how it plays out across a lending book. Background is open too, so whether you've come from underwriting, portfolio management, audit or another part of risk, what matters more is that you understand credit risk and want to build a career around it rather than the exact route you took to get there. The one thing that won't fit is a sales or BD background, since this sits firmly on the risk side of the business. You'll be working closely with colleagues across underwriting, product and finance, feeding into how the company manages risk on these portfolios and helping shape the reporting and recommendations that go up to senior management and committee. This is a role with a clear route upward, with the plan being that whoever takes it on will move into a senior position within two years, and from there have the chance to build and lead their own team. It's rare to walk into a credit risk seat with that kind of runway already mapped out rather than having to fight for it.So, if you have:A solid understanding of credit risk and how it applies to a lending portfolioComfort working with data, pulling it together and drawing out what matters, even if you wouldn't call yourself an analystExperience from underwriting, credit risk, portfolio management, audit or a similar background (anything except sales or business development)An interest in bridging and commercial mortgage lending, or a willingness to get stuck into itAnd can:Communicate clearly with stakeholders across different parts of the businessTake ownership of your area and see things throughGrow into a more senior, people-leading role over the next couple of yearsIf that sounds like the kind of role and progression you're after, at a company on an exciting trajectory, we'd love to hear from you, so let us know if you'd like the full spec or a chat about the team first.💻 info@meetskillful.com / chris.manning@meetskillful.com
