A leading global energy trading platform is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Manager to join its Singapore office. Operating across international commodity markets, the firm manages a broad portfolio of counterparties ranging from multinational corporates and trading houses to project entities and transportation providers. Credit risk plays a critical role in supporting commercial growth, transaction structuring, and portfolio management across the business. Based in Singapore, this position offers the opportunity to lead a team, partner closely with front office stakeholders, and shape credit risk practices across a global trading platform. Responsibilities:Lead the assessment and approval of credit exposures for new and existing counterparties across a diverse commodities portfolio, ensuring thorough analysis of risks, ratings, limits, and credit mitigants * Review and approve credit recommendations within delegated authority levels, escalating transactions where required * Manage and mentor a team of credit analysts, providing guidance on credit reviews, portfolio monitoring, and risk assessment methodologies * Partner closely with trading, origination, legal, and risk teams to balance commercial objectives with prudent risk management * Evaluate and monitor counterparty creditworthiness through financial analysis, industry assessment, and ongoing market surveillance * Support the structuring and negotiation of credit risk protections, including contractual terms and credit support arrangements such as guarantees, letters of credit, and collateral agreements * Oversee portfolio credit exposure monitoring and contribute to reporting of key credit risk metrics to senior management * Identify emerging market developments and credit events that may impact the portfolio, recommending appropriate risk mitigation strategies * Drive enhancements to credit risk frameworks, policies, systems, and governance processes to improve operational efficiency and risk oversight Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related discipline * Approximately 8-10 years of experience in credit risk, counterparty risk, or credit analysis within commodities trading, energy markets, or financial institutions * Prior experience leading teams and mentoring junior credit professionals * Strong credit assessment skills, including financial statement analysis, risk rating methodologies, and portfolio monitoring * Experience supporting transactions across commodities markets, particularly within energy, freight, or related sectors * Knowledge of credit risk mitigation techniques, credit documentation, and collateral structures would be advantageous * Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence both commercial and risk-focused audiences * Familiarity with KYC, AML, and broader risk governance requirements * Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced trading environment * A proactive, commercially minded individual who can balance business growth with effective risk management If you are interested, please apply or email your CV Kindly note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further discussion.
