Job PurposeThe Credit Specialist is responsible for managing customer credit activities, monitoring accounts receivable, assessing customer creditworthiness, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments. The role involves evaluating credit risks, establishing appropriate credit limits, following up on overdue accounts, and supporting the business in maintaining a healthy cash flow while minimizing credit exposure. The role also supports third-party financing arrangements by coordinating with banks, leasing companies, and other financial institutions to facilitate customer financing.2. Key Responsibilities:Credit Assessment & ApprovalReview and assess new and existing customers' creditworthiness based on financial information, payment history, business background, and available credit information.Conduct credit checks and recommend appropriate credit limits and payment terms.Review customer financial statements and other supporting documents where required.Monitor customer credit exposure against approved credit limits.Identify potential credit risks and escalate high-risk accounts to management.Provide recommendations regarding credit terms, security requirements, guarantees, deposits, and other risk-mitigation measures.Third-Party FinancingCoordinate with banks, leasing companies, and other financial institutions on third-party financing arrangements for customers.Collect, review, and submit customer and transaction documents required for third-party financing applications.Follow up on financing applications, approvals, documentation, and disbursements to ensure timely completion of customer financing.Coordinate with Sales, Finance, customers, and financing institutions to resolve issues and ensure financing conditions are met before delivery or order processing.Maintain accurate records of third-party financing applications, approval status, financing terms, disbursements, and related correspondence.Support the development and implementation of suitable third-party financing solutions and financing processes in accordance with company credit policies.Accounts Receivable & CollectionsMonitor outstanding receivables and ensure timely collection of customer payments.Prepare and maintain accurate aging reports and follow up on overdue invoices.Contact customers regarding outstanding balances and agree on payment arrangements where necessary.Coordinate with the Sales, Finance, and Operations teams to resolve payment delays and account-related issues.Escalate long-overdue or high-risk accounts in accordance with company procedures.Support the recovery of disputed and overdue amounts.Credit Control & Risk ManagementRegularly review customer accounts to identify changes in payment behavior and credit risk.Ensure customer accounts remain within approved credit limits and payment terms.Recommend suspension or restriction of credit facilities where appropriate.Maintain proper documentation of credit approvals, customer correspondence, payment arrangements, and collection activities.Assist in developing and implementing effective credit control procedures.Support the Finance team in minimizing bad debts and improving working capital.Customer & Internal CoordinationMaintain professional communication with customers regarding credit, payment, and account-related matters.Coordinate with Sales teams to ensure that credit policies are followed before processing customer orders.Work closely with Finance and Sales Management on customer credit issues and collection strategies.Provide regular updates to management regarding overdue accounts, collection status, and credit risks.Reporting & DocumentationPrepare periodic reports on accounts receivable, overdue balances, credit exposure, and collection performance.Maintain accurate customer credit records and ensure all documentation is properly filed.Provide management with analysis of significant overdue accounts and potential bad debt risks.Assist with month-end and year-end receivables reporting and reconciliation activities.3. QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.Professional certification in credit management, accounting, or finance is an advantage.Good knowledge of credit control, accounts receivable, and collection practices.Good understanding of third-party financing processes and coordination with financial institutions is an advantage.4. Experience3–5 years of relevant experience in credit control, credit analysis, accounts receivable, or collections.Experience in trading, construction, heavy machinery, equipment, automotive, or B2B industries is preferred.Experience dealing with corporate customers and large-value credit facilities is an advantage.UAE/GCC experience is preferred.Experience working with banks, leasing companies, or other financial institutions on customer financing is an advantage.5. Required SkillsStrong credit analysis and risk assessment skills.Good understanding of accounting and accounts receivable principles.Strong negotiation and collection skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong attention to detail and numerical ability.Ability to analyze financial statements and customer payment behavior.Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet collection targets.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office.Good coordination and follow-up skills for third-party financing applications and disbursements.Experience with ERP/accounting systems is preferred.
