Leadership to prepare for, respond to, manage, and recover from significant incidents and disruptive events.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Crisis Response Manager to lead the organization's crisis-response capabilities, incident escalation, crisis coordination, emergency preparedness, response planning, crisis communications, exercises, and post-incident improvement.The ideal candidate will provide calm, structured, and decisive leadership during significant incidents while building the systems, processes, plans, training, and cross-functional capabilities required to ensure an effective organizational response.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement the organization's crisis-response strategy, framework, policies, standards, procedures, governance model, and operating protocols.Establish an enterprise crisis-management and incident-response framework covering preparedness, detection, escalation, assessment, response, stabilization, recovery, and post-incident review.Develop crisis-response governance structures, including crisis-management teams, incident-management teams, escalation paths, decision authorities, roles, responsibilities, and reporting mechanisms.Establish clear criteria for incident classification, severity assessment, escalation, crisis activation, executive notification, and response mobilization.Develop and maintain crisis-management plans, crisis-response plans, incident-response playbooks, emergency procedures, escalation protocols, and scenario-specific response guides.Ensure crisis plans clearly define decision rights, response responsibilities, communication channels, stakeholder notifications, operational priorities, recovery actions, and escalation requirements.Coordinate crisis-response preparedness across business units, functions, locations, subsidiaries, and critical operations.Lead or coordinate organizational response to major incidents and crises, providing structured command, coordination, information management, and decision support.Activate crisis-management structures when defined thresholds or escalation criteria are met.Coordinate crisis-management teams and ensure appropriate subject-matter experts are mobilized based on the nature and severity of the incident.Establish incident command, crisis coordination, situation reporting, action tracking, decision logging, and executive briefing processes.Maintain a clear operational picture during crises by consolidating incident information, impacts, risks, decisions, actions, and recovery priorities.Establish crisis-management rooms, virtual command centers, communication channels, or other response coordination mechanisms as appropriate.Coordinate real-time information flow between executive leadership, business units, operational teams, technical teams, external partners, and other stakeholders.Ensure timely escalation of critical information, emerging risks, operational impacts, and key decisions to appropriate leadership.Develop standardized incident-status reporting, situation reports, executive updates, action trackers, and decision logs.Maintain accurate and time-sensitive records of major crisis events, decisions, approvals, communications, actions, and recovery milestones.Coordinate response to scenarios including cyber incidents, technology outages, facility loss, security events, natural disasters, severe weather, fire, utility failures, supply-chain disruption, workforce disruption, transportation incidents, public-health events, geopolitical developments, regulatory incidents, reputational events, and other major disruptions.Develop scenario-specific crisis-response playbooks based on organizational risk exposure and critical business dependencies.Conduct crisis scenario analysis and identify required response capabilities, resources, decision points, dependencies, and escalation triggers.Develop crisis-response strategies for severe and rapidly evolving events, including compound and cascading disruptions.Coordinate cross-functional response activities and resolve conflicts between competing operational, safety, commercial, customer, regulatory, and recovery priorities.Ensure protection of people and life safety remains a primary consideration during crisis response.Coordinate with Security, HSE, Facilities, Operations, and emergency-response teams on incidents involving physical safety, security, facilities, infrastructure, or environmental hazards.Coordinate with IT and Technology teams during major technology outages, infrastructure failures, system disruptions, data-loss events, and other critical technology incidents.Coordinate with Cybersecurity teams during cyber incidents, ransomware attacks, security breaches, data compromise, network disruptions, and other cyber crises.Integrate cyber incident response with broader enterprise crisis-management and executive-response structures.Coordinate with Business Continuity and Resilience teams to protect critical operations and initiate continuity and recovery strategies.Ensure crisis response transitions effectively into business continuity, stabilization, and recovery activities.Coordinate with Procurement and Supply Chain teams during critical supplier failures, material shortages, logistics disruptions, transportation incidents, and other supply-chain crises.Coordinate with Facilities teams during building closures, infrastructure failures, utility disruptions, site evacuations, access restrictions, or loss of critical facilities.Coordinate with Human Resources during workforce disruptions, employee safety incidents, mass absenteeism, labor disruptions, or other people-related crises.Coordinate with Finance during major financial disruptions, payment failures, liquidity concerns, fraud incidents, treasury disruptions, or other critical financial events where applicable.Coordinate with Legal and Compliance teams to assess legal, regulatory, contractual, reporting, and liability implications during major incidents.Ensure crisis-response activities consider regulatory obligations, customer commitments, contractual requirements, and statutory notification requirements.Coordinate with Corporate Communications on internal and external crisis communications.Develop crisis communication protocols, approval workflows, message escalation procedures, stakeholder notification plans, and communication templates.Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate should have experience in crisis management, crisis response, emergency management, incident management, business continuity, operational resilience, security, disaster recovery, enterprise risk management, or related fields.Experience working with multinational corporations, financial institutions, technology companies, energy organizations, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, logistics, retail, healthcare, government organizations, or other complex and high-dependency operating environments is highly advantageous.The candidate should demonstrate:Strong understanding of crisis management, incident response, emergency management, business continuity, operational resilience, and organizational recovery.Proven experience developing and implementing enterprise crisis-response frameworks, plans, playbooks, and governance structures.Strong experience managing or coordinating major incidents, crisis events, emergency responses, or complex operational disruptions.Ability to remain calm, structured, decisive, and analytical under significant pressure.Strong understanding of incident classification, escalation, crisis activation, incident command, decision-making, situation awareness, and executive reporting.Experience developing crisis scenarios and scenario-specific response playbooks.Strong experience designing and facilitating tabletop exercises, simulations, functional exercises, crisis drills, and full-scale exercises.Experience conducting after-action reviews and managing corrective-action and remediation programs.Strong understanding of crisis communications, stakeholder management, executive communications, emergency notifications, and information management.
