REVA’s mission is centered on helping patients “fly home” so they can “feel better.”Role Description The Critical Care Flight Paramedic is a full-time, on-site role based in Philadelphia, PA, providing advanced life support and critical care to patients during fixed-wing air ambulance transports. This position is responsible for assessing patient condition, implementing evidence-based interventions, and monitoring responses throughout each mission in collaboration with flight nurses and medical control. The role includes preparing and maintaining medical equipment and supplies, ensuring readiness and adherence to safety protocols, and accurately documenting all aspects of patient care and transport. The Flight Paramedic will participate in pre-flight briefings, post-flight debriefings, and ongoing training to maintain clinical proficiency, regulatory compliance, and operational readiness. The role also involves effective communication with patients, families, and partners to support a safe, compassionate, and efficient transport experience.Qualifications Current Paramedic certification/license (state and/or national), with advanced life support and critical care transport experience.Demonstrated proficiency in airway management, cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and emergency procedures in high-acuity environments.Experience working in aviation, EMS, or hospital-based critical care settings, with strong knowledge of safety and infection control practices.Previous experience with ventilator management required. Ability to perform thorough patient assessments, interpret clinical data, and make sound decisions under time pressure and in confined spaces.Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary crews and interact respectfully with patients and families.Physical capability to lift, move, and secure patients and equipment, and to work in variable environmental conditions for extended periods.Completion of relevant flight or transport paramedic certifications (e.g., FP-C, CCP-C) preferred, along with ongoing continuing education in critical care and transport medicine.CPR, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and other applicable emergency care certifications required or ability to obtain within specified timeframes.
