Critical Care Medicine Specialist / Consultant (Al Dhafra Region)

Position SummarySEHA is seeking an experienced Specialist or Consultant in Critical Care Medicine to join the healthcare team in the Al Dhafra Region, Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess, diagnose, and manage critically ill and medically complex patients in the ICU.Provide comprehensive management of patients requiring respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, renal, or other organ support.Manage mechanical ventilation, airway emergencies, hemodynamic instability, sepsis, shock, and other critical conditions.Perform critical care procedures within the physician’s approved scope of practice and clinical privileges.Participate in emergency response and resuscitation when required.Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans.Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation.Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement, patient safety, audits, and departmental activities.Support education and supervision of junior medical staff where applicable.Maintain professional knowledge and clinical competencies in Critical Care Medicine.Education & Qualification RequirementsMedical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.Recognized postgraduate qualification or board certification in Critical Care Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, or an appropriate related specialty with recognized Critical Care training.Must meet the applicable Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DOH) licensing requirements for the Specialist or Consultant title.Valid DOH license or DOH eligibility is preferred.Current life-support certifications relevant to the position are preferred.ExperienceSpecialist:Relevant post-qualification clinical experience in Critical Care / Intensive Care Medicine appropriate to DOH requirements.Demonstrated experience managing critically ill adult patients.Consultant:Recognized Consultant-level qualification and post-qualification experience meeting applicable DOH requirements.Strong experience independently managing complex and critically ill patients.Previous leadership, teaching, clinical governance, or multidisciplinary ICU experience is an advantage.
