Cryogenic Hydrogen Tank Design Intern

Wren Aerospace is looking for a Cryogenic Hydrogen Tank Design Intern to support the development of a lightweight liquid-hydrogen storage system for our high-endurance aircraft.The project will include:Defining tank and aircraft-integration requirementsComparing tank architectures, materials and insulation conceptsAssessing structural loads, thermal performance and hydrogen boil-offDeveloping a preliminary tank design and supporting analysisConsidering mounting, plumbing, safety and aircraft-level integrationWe are looking for a student in aerospace, mechanical, structural or materials engineering. Experience with structural analysis, thermal modelling, cryogenic systems or pressure vessels would be valuable. Knowledge of composite materials and composite pressure-vessel design is preferred.The placement will be based around our work at ESA BIC Noordwijk, with a hybrid arrangement possible.
