Apply & track with Apply EdgeAbout the JobRole DescriptionA Cultural Heritage Officer supports the protection, documentation, preservation, interpretation, and promotion of cultural heritage assets, historical sites, traditional practices, and cultural resources. The role involves assisting with heritage research, site documentation, conservation programs, community engagement, exhibitions, educational initiatives, and coordination with relevant cultural institutions and stakeholders.The position is suitable for candidates with experience or education in cultural heritage, archaeology, history, anthropology, museum studies, conservation, cultural management, or related fields. Previous experience working with heritage sites, museums, archives, or cultural institutions is an advantage.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the planning and implementation of cultural heritage preservation and management activities.Assist with identifying, documenting, and recording cultural heritage assets and resources.Conduct research on historical sites, buildings, artifacts, traditions, and cultural practices.Assist with heritage surveys, site assessments, documentation, and fieldwork.Maintain accurate records of heritage sites, objects, photographs, drawings, reports, and related documentation.Assist with cataloging and maintaining heritage collections and archival materials.Support the preparation of heritage assessments, reports, inventories, and research summaries.Assist with documenting the historical, architectural, archaeological, and cultural significance of heritage assets.Support conservation and preservation projects under the direction of qualified specialists.Monitor the condition of heritage sites, structures, artifacts, and cultural resources.Report damage, deterioration, unauthorized activity, or other potential risks affecting heritage assets.Assist with coordinating maintenance and conservation activities with contractors, consultants, specialists, and relevant authorities.Support archaeological, architectural, historical, or cultural research projects when required.Assist with collecting field data, photographs, measurements, maps, and other project information.Support the development and maintenance of heritage databases and digital records.Assist with preparing documentation for heritage permits, approvals, registrations, and related processes where applicable.Coordinate with museums, cultural institutions, government departments, research organizations, consultants, and community groups.Assist with organizing exhibitions, cultural programs, educational activities, lectures, workshops, and heritage events.Support the preparation of interpretive materials, brochures, displays, signage, presentations, and digital content.Assist with developing public awareness initiatives related to cultural heritage and preservation.Communicate with visitors, researchers, community members, contractors, and other stakeholders professionally.Provide accurate general information about heritage sites, collections, history, and cultural significance within the approved scope of information.Support guided heritage activities and educational programs when required.Assist with coordinating cultural heritage events, public programs, and community engagement activities.Research traditional crafts, customs, oral histories, local traditions, and intangible cultural heritage where applicable.Assist with recording interviews, oral histories, community knowledge, and cultural documentation according to approved procedures.Support digitization projects involving photographs, documents, maps, manuscripts, and other heritage materials.Maintain organized digital and physical heritage files.Assist with tracking project schedules, budgets, procurement activities, and documentation when required.Prepare meeting notes, project updates, correspondence, and administrative reports.Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive cultural information, archaeological locations, private collections, and stakeholder information where required.Follow heritage protection standards, site safety procedures, ethical research practices, and applicable UAE laws and regulations.Perform other cultural heritage, research, conservation, and administrative duties as assigned.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Cultural Heritage, Archaeology, History, Anthropology, Museum Studies, Architecture, Conservation, Cultural Management, or a related field is preferred.Master's degree or specialized heritage qualification is an advantage.Previous experience in cultural heritage, museums, archaeology, historical research, conservation, archives, or cultural institutions is preferred.Strong knowledge of heritage preservation and documentation principles.Understanding of historical, archaeological, architectural, and cultural research methods.Strong research, analytical, and documentation skills.Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to conduct fieldwork and document heritage sites and objects systematically.Good organizational and project coordination skills.Ability to manage multiple research, documentation, and heritage activities.Good understanding of cultural sensitivity and ethical heritage practices.Ability to work effectively with researchers, government authorities, consultants, community groups, and cultural organizations.Good computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Experience with heritage databases, GIS, digital archives, cataloging systems, or documentation software is an advantage.Knowledge of conservation terminology and heritage-management practices is beneficial.Strong presentation and public communication skills.Professional, respectful, and culturally sensitive approach.Ability to work in offices, museums, heritage sites, and outdoor field environments when required.Willingness to travel to heritage sites and project locations when necessary.Fluency in English is preferred; knowledge of Arabic or additional languages is an advantage.Knowledge of UAE history, archaeology, architecture, traditional culture, and national heritage is an advantage.Familiarity with UAE cultural heritage policies and regulatory requirements is an advantage.Relevant professional heritage, museum, archaeology, or conservation certification is an
