- Department & Workflow Leadership: Lead and oversee the customs brokerage department including the team of entry writers, ensuring that operational goals and KPIs are met. Manage the entire import clearance workflow: from customs entries and ISF filings to broker relationships, audits, billing, and client communications.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all applicable U.S. customs regulations, partner government agencies, trade policies, and company SOPs. Act as the escalation point for complex or high-risk shipments, broker disputes, compliance issues, and audit findings.
- Process Improvement & Team Development: Review and improve department processes including work distribution, quality control, performance measurement, and continuous improvement. Train, coach, and evaluate team members, manage staffing, workflow capacity, and performance metrics.
- Cross-Functional & Systems Coordination: Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Legal teams to support new account onboarding, client growth, and service delivery. Maintain and enhance customs clearance systems, reporting tools, data analytics, and entry tracking while providing regular management reports on performance, cost control, and compliance.[What You Are Looking For]
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field is preferred. Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in customs brokerage or international trade operations, including at least 2–3 years in a management or supervisory capacity.
- Core Expertise & Compliance: Strong expertise in U.S. customs laws and regulations (19 CFR, HTS classifications, PGAs, duty/valuation, etc.).
- Language Proficiency: Bilingual in Korean and English is required (for effective communication with regional site teams and corporate leadership).
- Skills & Competencies: Demonstrated leadership and team-management skills with the ability to build high-performing teams. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with preferred experience in customs/brokerage systems.
- Work Authorization: Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.[Compensation & Benefits]
- Competitive Base Salary: $90,000 – $120,000 / year (Depending On Qualifications)
