We value integrity, accuracy, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Customs Specialist to support customs documentation, import and export processes, trade compliance, and cross-border logistics activities. This part-time remote role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who understands customs requirements, can coordinate with logistics partners and authorities, and helps ensure shipments are processed accurately and efficiently.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and maintain import and export customs documentation.Coordinate customs clearance activities with brokers, carriers, freight forwarders, and relevant stakeholders.Review commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates, permits, and other trade documents for accuracy.Support accurate classification of goods using applicable HS codes and tariff information.Monitor customs declarations, duties, taxes, fees, and related shipment requirements.Track customs clearance status and proactively address delays or documentation discrepancies.Maintain accurate records of customs transactions, declarations, and supporting documentation.Monitor changes in customs regulations, import/export requirements, tariffs, and trade procedures.Coordinate with internal teams to ensure products and shipments meet applicable trade requirements.Support customs audits, compliance reviews, and requests for documentation.Identify potential customs risks and escalate complex compliance matters when necessary.Recommend improvements to customs processes, documentation controls, and clearance efficiency.Requirements3+ years of professional experience in customs, import/export, freight forwarding, trade compliance, or logistics preferred.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, Business, or a related discipline preferred.Strong understanding of customs clearance, import/export procedures, HS classification, and trade documentation.Familiarity with duties, tariffs, taxes, permits, and customs compliance requirements.Strong attention to detail and ability to identify documentation inconsistencies.Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, or government authorities.Proficiency in ERP, logistics, customs, or trade management systems and Microsoft Excel.Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple shipments, deadlines, and compliance requirements.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with international and remote teams.Customs, trade, or logistics certifications are not required unless specifically relevant to the role.What We OfferFlexible part-time work with a fully remote arrangement.Competitive compensation aligned with experience and responsibilities.Opportunities to support international trade and cross-border logistics operations.Exposure to customs processes, global supply chains, trade documentation, and compliance systems.A collaborative environment focused on accuracy, efficiency, and responsible international commerce.Professional development opportunities and practical experience across customs and trade operations.
