Cyber Security Manager - Hybrid/ Remote (Predominately home based)NW London£70,000 - £92,5000 + Excellent Benefits (23.5% Employer Pension Contribution!)A leading public sector organisation is looking to appoint an experienced Cyber Security Manager to take strategic ownership of cyber security across a large and complex technology environment.This is a senior, hands-on security leadership role responsible for protecting critical infrastructure, sensitive data and essential services, while ensuring the organisation remains aligned with national security standards and regulatory requirements.The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of security policies, standards and frameworks, working closely with senior stakeholders, technology teams and outsourced service providers to embed security by design across the organisation.The RoleKey responsibilities will include:Providing strategic leadership across the organisation's cyber security function and wider security strategyLeading incident response, vulnerability management and the remediation of security risksMaintaining compliance across PSN, PCI-DSS, Cyber Essentials Plus, GDPR and NCSC guidanceProviding technical oversight across SIEM, firewalls, endpoint protection and identity/access managementSupporting the security of Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud and hybrid environmentsWorking with architects, technology teams and suppliers to ensure security is embedded into new solutions and change programmesPlaying a key role within the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and providing leadership to the Information Security BoardConducting vulnerability and security scanning, including Nessus, PCI-DSS, PSN and Cyber Essentials PlusInvestigating security breaches and ensuring appropriate controls and preventative measures are implementedManaging third-party technology providers and ensuring security controls, evidence and compliance requirements are maintainedPreparing annual compliance submissions and supporting accreditation and certification activitiesDeveloping security awareness and ensuring effective communication of security policies across the organisationManaging a security budget and supporting the development of longer-term cyber security plansThe PersonThe organisation is looking for an established cyber security professional with experience operating within a public sector, regulated or large-scale corporate environment.The successful candidate will bring:Strong knowledge of NCSC guidance, PSN, PCI-DSS, GDPR and Cyber Essentials PlusExperience with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender and Microsoft E5 security toolingExposure to Microsoft Copilot for Security would be advantageousExperience working within an ITIL environmentA strong understanding of cyber security governance, risk, compliance and best practiceProven experience managing security risks and working with technology partners and service providersStrong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to influence senior leaders and technical teamsThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cyber security professional to take a strategic leadership position with significant organisational visibility, influencing security strategy, resilience and technology decisions across a complex environment.
