The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various dance styles such as Contemporary and Ballet, and a genuine love for teaching students of all ages. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, fostering a positive learning environment, and helping students develop their dance skills while promoting creativity and self-expression. We are looking for individuals who are willing to grow with the school, stay for many seasons to come, responsible and respectful, and be a part of the Bay Dance Collective family.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive lesson plans tailored to the needs of students at different skill levels.Teach various dance styles, mostly Ballet and Contemporary, beginner to intermediate/advanced. Occasional subbing for Jazz.Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting a respectful and inclusive atmosphere.Provide constructive feedback to students to help them improve their technique and performance.Organize and participate in dance recitals, competitions, and other events to showcase student progress.Maintain a safe and clean environment for all students during classes.Take videos during class for social media needs when needed.RequirementsPrevious experience in dance instruction or related fields such as early childhood education or adult education is preferred.Strong knowledge of dance techniques across multiple styles, mostly Ballet & Contemporary.Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate and inspire students of all ages.Experience in childcare or behavior management is a plus, particularly for working with younger students.Ability to create engaging lesson plans that incorporate creativity and fun into the learning process.Ability to choreograph a piece for recital, or possible competitive pieces.Must be adaptable, patient, and enthusiastic about teaching dance.Check out our website: baydancecollective.com for more information.
