Instructors are encouraged to build long-term relationships with students and contribute to a positive studio culture.Role Description This full-time, on-site Dance Instructor role is located at Fred Astaire Dance Studios-Buffalo in Buffalo, NY. The Dance Instructor will teach private lessons and group classes in ballroom and social dance styles to beginners through advanced students, following studio teaching standards and curricula. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering engaging lessons, demonstrating dance techniques, providing clear feedback, and helping students progress toward their goals. The role also involves preparing students for showcases, social parties, and events, as well as supporting studio activities such as introductory sessions for new students and studio open houses. Instructors are expected to maintain a professional appearance, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for all students.QualificationsCandidates should possess skills in Dance Instruction and Teaching, with the ability to guide students of varied ages and experience levels.Candidates should possess skills in Dance and Dance Education, including knowledge of multiple styles and effective learning techniques.Candidates should possess skills related to Music, such as musicality, rhythm awareness, and the ability to teach timing and phrasing.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patience, encouragement, and inclusive, gender-neutral instruction.Ability to demonstrate physical stamina, safe partnering techniques, and adherence to health and safety guidelines.Prior experience teaching dance or performing is highly beneficial; formal dance training or certifications are a plus.Willingness to learn studio-specific methods, participate in ongoing training, and work evenings or weekends as needed.If you do not match all of the qualifications listed above, please still apply!
