This position is responsible for planning, teaching, and leading dance classes for students of varying ages and skill levels, using age-appropriate techniques and repertoire. Day-to-day tasks include designing lesson plans, demonstrating movements, providing individualized feedback, preparing students for performances, and promoting safe and inclusive learning environments. The Dance Instructor will collaborate with other staff to coordinate rehearsals, performances, and events, maintain studio discipline and organization, and communicate regularly with students and families about progress and expectations. Additional responsibilities may include curriculum development, participation in staff meetings, and supporting broader arts programming as needed.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong skills in Dance Instruction and Dance Education, including lesson planning and class management.Candidates should possess effective Teaching skills, with the ability to engage diverse learners and adapt methods to different age groups and abilities.Candidates should possess solid Dance technique and performance skills in one or more styles (e.g., ballet, jazz, modern, hip-hop).Candidates should possess foundational Music understanding, including rhythm, musicality, and coordination of movement to music.Additional beneficial qualifications include prior experience teaching in studio or school settings, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to foster an inclusive, respectful classroom environment.A relevant certification or degree in Dance, Dance Education, or a related field is preferred, along with the ability to work a consistent full-time on-site schedule in Jacksonville, FL.
