Role OverviewThe Dance Teacher Facilitator will design and facilitate engaging dance experiences as part of the Performing Arts enrichment programme at Valistus International School. The role will nurture learners' movement skills, creativity, confidence, discipline and appreciation of dance as an art form.The Facilitator is expected to create an inclusive and learner-centred environment where learners can explore movement, develop technique, express themselves creatively and collaborate with others.Key Responsibility Areas1. Dance Learning & FacilitationPlan and facilitate age-appropriate dance sessions across assigned grade levels.Develop learners' foundational skills in movement, rhythm, coordination, body awareness and performance.Introduce learners to appropriate dance forms, techniques and cultural contexts.Balance structured technique instruction with opportunities for creative exploration, improvisation and learner expression.Adapt sessions to accommodate different levels of ability, confidence and prior exposure to dance.2. Performing Arts & Creative DevelopmentEncourage learners to develop creativity, musicality, expression and stage confidence.Create opportunities for learners to choreograph, collaborate and present their own work.Develop age-appropriate dance pieces for school events, assemblies, showcases and productions.Support learners participating in inter-school performances or competitions, where applicable.Collaborate with Music, Theatre and other Performing Arts Facilitators for integrated productions and experiences.Foster discipline, teamwork, respect, confidence and commitment through dance.Maintain an inclusive environment where learners of different abilities can participate meaningfully.. Maintain professional communication with learners, colleagues and parents.6. Safety & Professional PracticeEnsure appropriate warm-up, conditioning, cool-down and safe movement practices.Maintain a safe and well-managed learning environment in dance and performance spaces.Follow school safeguarding, child protection, health and safety and professional conduct requirements.Demonstrate appropriate professional boundaries when working with learners.Minimum Educational / Professional QualificationsA Bachelor's degree or recognised diploma/certification in Dance, Performing Arts, Fine Arts or a related discipline.Strong formal training and demonstrated proficiency in one or more recognised dance forms.Professional certification/training from a recognised dance institution or academy will be an advantage.A formal teacher-training qualification such as B.Ed., Diploma in Education or equivalent is preferred but may not be mandatory for candidates with strong professional dance and teaching experience.Demonstrated ability to teach children and adolescents in a structured school or educational environment.ExperienceMinimum 2–3 years of experience teaching or facilitating Dance with children/young learners is preferred.Experience working across multiple age groups is an advantage.Experience in a school, international school, performing arts institution or structured enrichment programme is desirable.Experience in choreography and school productions is strongly preferred.Performance experience, competition experience or professional exposure in the relevant dance form will be an advantage.Strong dance technique and movement vocabulary.Interested Candidates may apply at careers@valistus.in
