Brand Finance is a unique consultancy specialising in brand strategy and valuation, powered by market research, with the goal of ‘bridging the gap between marketing and finance’. We are a dynamic group of market researchers, marketers and financial analysts, working on a challenging mix of analytical and interpretive projects to feed into strategic decisions and predictive financial models. As a key member of the research team, you will work across a variety of bespoke client projects focusing primarily on the quantitative side of the business, as well as support our data & analytics needs for our syndicated research initiatives covering global commercial brands, football brands, place and nation brands - a variety sure to keep even the most curious mind engaged.Overview of the RoleThe role is for an ambitious data & analytics professional, with a passion for research, coming into a growing research team, eager to take ownership and make an impact. Here you will be exposed to wide variety of leading global brands spanning different market sectors as a member of a diverse organisation. We utilise multivariate research approaches to help answer our client’s critical business needs and questions. The successful candidate will report directly into our Analytics Associate Director who leads advanced data and analytics for our research strategy projects and initiatives.Working collaboratively with the Research team and individual Strategy and Valuation teams, you will manage multiple data & analytics requests simultaneously, playing a key role in providing outputs that allow for delivery excellence for all of our research and insight projects. With support from the Analytics Manager and wider Research team, you will be expected to process and analyse data sets to help the Brand Finance team deliver important actionable insight to end clients and internal stakeholders alike. An eagerness to learn on the job is also required, with the company increasingly offering advanced analytical approaches to clients such as driver and factor (PCA) analysis, customer segmentation, maxdiff, conjoint etc.ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCEProspective candidates need to be well-rounded individuals that work well within our friendly team culture and have strong analytical and communications skills. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and act proactively on their own initiative. As a minimum we are looking for candidates with the following skills:A University Degree qualification in a research relatable fieldExcellent Excel skills, with PowerPoint experience a bonusFluent in both written and spoken English. Other language capabilities are a bonus, though not essentialStrong analytical skills and a good eye for detailStrong organisational skills, ideally able to manage up and downHighly motivated and keen to work in small cross-functional teamsAn effective communicatorThorough understanding of statistical concepts e.g. descriptive statistics, distributions, hypothesis testing, regression etc.While data and analytics will be the primary role, broader involvement in Research project delivery to client is available if desired (i.e. hybrid analytics / researcher role)WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:You are likely to be currently working in a research and insights organisationMinimum 2 years of experience in data processing and analytics (market research agency or related industry experience is desirable)Strong understanding of data processing and at least a basic grasp of analytics techniques (e.g. drivers analysis), though analytics training is available on the jobUsed to working in an agile environment, managing up and down as necessary to keep projects on trackExperience with data processing and analytics software such as Q, SPSS or Sawtooth is expected
