Apply & track with Apply EdgeJob ProfileOur client is rapidly expanding and you will be their first dedicated Data & Analytics hire. You’ll have the chance to build the function from the ground up, taking ownership of the day-to-day data and analytics activity and turning data from across the business into meaningful KPIs, reporting and insight for senior stakeholders. The role is very hands-on to begin with (around 60% delivery and 40% strategy), so you’ll be close to the data and have the opportunity to make a real impact, while gradually moving into a more strategic position as the function and team grow. You’ll work closely with Finance, IT and the wider leadership team, with plenty of scope to shape the Group’s data strategy and progress into a leadership role over time.ResponsibilitiesBring together, analyse and interpret data from across the business to support informed decision-making.Use SQL and Power BI to develop reliable KPIs, dashboards and management reporting for Finance, the Board and external advisers.Perform hands-on data cleansing, integration, reconciliation and data quality activities.Build and maintain data pipelines across multiple business systems, including Intelliflo, MoneyInfo and AccountsIQ.Support the integration of newly acquired businesses, ensuring their data can be migrated effectively into existing systems and processes.Develop a scalable approach to data migration, with responsibility for eventually leading migrations end-to-end.Contribute to the development of the organisation’s wider data strategy, helping shape how data is managed and used across the business.Influence the design and future direction of the data platform and architecture.Help establish and develop the data function, with the opportunity to build and eventually lead a data team.SkillsEssential
- Strong, hands-on data and SQL skills, with a track record of practical data manipulation.
- Genuine depth in Power BI – data modelling and DAX, not just report-building.
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, reconciliation and integrations.
- A track record of producing reporting, KPIs and MI for business and finance stakeholders.
- Sound instincts for data quality and governance.
- The ambition and aptitude to take on a growing strategic remit and, in time, to lead a team.
- A clear communicator who can translate business questions into data, and data into decisions.
- Experience of the Snowflake data platformDesirable
- Experience of financial-services data, ideally in the delivery of financial advice (Intelliflo, platforms, assets under advice and flows, Consumer Duty).
- Python development skills.
- A finance or management-reporting background.
- Experience of data migration or system onboarding.
- Experience of other data platforms (Microsoft Fabric / Azure, Databricks etc)
