Location: Stamford, CTA successful and growing publicly traded financial services organization is seeking an experienced Data Analyst with data analysis experience, preferably from a similar industry.

This is an operational and oversight function involving evaluating regulations, researching, and analyzing data, understanding technical implementations of systems, and creating control procedures to test compliance.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities for the Data Analyst will include reviewing regulatory data to identify root causes and necessary remediation for errorsUtilizing UNIX command tools to make corrections to records as neededDeveloping surveillance for regulatory reporting and operational dataAutomating the Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT) business system.Following up with software developers and/or management on any errors or exceptions that ariseGathering facts to assist the firm in responding to examinations and formal inquiriesProposing improvements to, or additional controls over, regulatory reportingPerform ad hoc analysis and supervisory reviews as needed.QualificationsBachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a quantitative or analytical field.1-3 years of experience in data analysis, compliance, operations, audit, or finance.Experience in an analytical role, preferably in the financial sector.Strong data analysis, investigation, and problem-solving skills.Experience performing data analysis using programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, or Go) and database queries (e.g., SQL)Regulatory research and interpretation skills preferred.FIX (Financial Information eXchange) protocol experience ideal.UNIX experience, or ability to learn the operating system.Experience using Atlassian systems (e.g., Confluence and JIRA) is a plus.Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, FINRA Consolidated Audit Trail (“CAT”) / Order Audit Trail (“OATS”) systems.
