Apply & track with Apply EdgeOur client is a well-established P&C insurer seeking a Data Analytics Engineer to bridge the gap between complex insurance data and actionable business insights.You’ll design and build analytics-ready data assets across Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Product, Distribution, and Finance, supporting Personal, Commercial, and Farm lines of business. This is a hands-on opportunity to work with modern data architecture, build trusted reporting solutions, and help advance a Snowflake-based data environment.
Candidates must be available during core Pacific Time business hours.What will you be doing?Partner with Product, Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Distribution teams to define KPIs, reporting requirements, and data specificationsBuild and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Sigma, Power BI, or similar BI platformsDesign and maintain data models, transformations, semantic layers, and pipelines within a Snowflake-based medallion architectureDevelop scalable and testable data pipelines using SQL and dbtIntegrate data from internal and external sources, including policy systems and CRM platformsBuild certified data products and semantic layers that enable business teams to perform self-service analyticsEstablish data governance standards around definitions, access, metadata, and qualityValidate data outputs and troubleshoot reporting or production issuesSupport recurring, ad hoc, financial, operational, and executive reportingCollaborate within an Agile environment and participate in planning, refinement, and sprint reviewsContinuously improve data products based on stakeholder feedbackWhat do you need to succeed?Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent experience5+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or a related fieldP&C insurance experience required, with a strong understanding of the insurance value chain and core metrics such as premium, loss, and reservingStrong experience building dashboards and reports in Sigma, Power BI, or equivalent BI platformsStrong experience with Snowflake and transformation tools such as dbtStrong SQL skills; Python or similar scripting experience preferredUnderstanding of dimensional modeling, ELT processes, and modern data architecturesExperience with data integration methods including APIs, flat files, and semi-structured dataExperience working in Agile environmentsStrong communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholdersFamiliarity with insurance systems such as Guidewire, POINT, Duck Creek, or similar platforms preferredExperience migrating from legacy data warehouses to modern platforms such as Snowflake preferredWhy Apply?Remote opportunity with Pacific Time flexibility$140K+ hiring range, with salary potential up to $171KWork across the full P&C insurance value chainHands-on exposure to Snowflake, dbt, modern data architecture, and BIOpportunity to help shape and improve a modern data environmentPartner directly with actuarial, underwriting, claims, product, finance, and distribution teamsBuild data products that directly support business and strategic decision-makingApply now!
