Data Analytics Manager (Slots Analytics)

JOB SUMMARYLead the slot analytics coverage, providing the yield, player value, and reinvestment analysis that Slot Operations and commercial leadership use to run the floor. The position sets the analytical standard for its team, monitors slot performance against target and explains the movement, takes on scoped commercial engagements on request, and provides ad hoc support where a revenue or cost item needs help to move. Accountability is for the quality, timeliness, and usefulness of that work and for the development of the team; decisions on product, configuration, and floor layout remain with Slot Operations.RESPONSIBILITIESSlot Floor Performance AnalyticsOwn the slot floor analytical view across coin-in, win, hold, occupancy, utilization, and win per unit per day.Analyze performance by title, cabinet, denomination, zone, bank, and day type, and identify where yield and hold are being lost.Maintain the definitions, baselines, and normalisation approach so the slot numbers are consistent across every audience.Set and review the analytical standard applied by the team.Product, Denomination and Floor Mix AnalysisAnalyse product mix, title, cabinet, denomination and par performance against floor space and capital deployed.Quantify the effect of proposed changes before they are made and measure the outcome afterwards.Support opening and ramp-up planning for slot floor.Provide the analysis behind operating recommendations, with the assumptions stated.Player Value and Reinvestment AnalysisAnalyse slot player value, theoretical versus actual, segment behaviour, retention and reactivation.Assess the cost and return of comps, free play, points, promotions and slot offers.Provide reinvestment analysis that is independent of the teams that set the reinvestment.Work with Business Development Analytics on shared patron populations.Performance Monitoring and Variance ReportingTrack slot floor performance against target, budget, forecast, and prior period on a weekly and monthly basis.Explain the movement in plain business terms and separate controllable commercial factors from volatility and external factors.Flag emerging shortfalls to the accountable operating owner early enough for them to act, and escalate where a gap is not being closed.Maintain the agreed monitoring pack so the same numbers are used in every review.Scoped Commercial EngagementsTake on short, defined pieces of slots and gaming operations work requested by commercial or operating leadership, on an agreed scope, deliverable, and end date.Frame the question, agree what a useful answer looks like, and set the engagement down when the deliverable is handed over.Hand findings to the accountable owner with a clear recommendation and the assumptions behind it.Decline or re-scope requests that cannot be served within the agreed capacity, and refer them for prioritisation.Ad Hoc Execution SupportProvide analytical and hands-on support to move a revenue or cost item forward where a gap in slots coverage has been identified.Assemble the numbers, the options and the supporting material the accountable owner needs to complete the item.Stay with the item until it is picked up by its owner or closed, then return to core coverage.Raise recurring gaps so that permanent ownership can be assigned rather than repeatedly covered.People Management and Capability DevelopmentLead, develop, and set objectives for the slot analytics team.Review team output for accuracy and clarity before it is released.Build repeatable processes and documentation so coverage does not depend on individuals.Develop the team's understanding of slot economics and floor operations.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Hospitality Management, Finance, or a related field. At least 5 years of meaningful experience in data analytics, including at least 1 year of gaming analytics, preferably in slot operations, revenue management, commercial analytics, or a related analytical function, including experience leading a small analytical team.
