Data Architecture Lead

Job Title: Data Architecture LeadDuration: 12 months renewable contractSchedule: Monday - FridayLocation: MonacoThis opportunity sits within a Data & Information Management environment, focused on shaping and scaling an enterprise analytics platform on Microsoft Fabric. The role offers significant technical ownership across solution architecture, platform design, governance and migration from Azure Synapse to a production-grade Microsoft data platform. This position will work closely with enterprise architecture, engineering teams and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure and high-value analytics capabilities.Required EducationBachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field.Required Experience8–10 years of experience in solution architecture, data platform architecture, data engineering or related roles, including significant delivery experience in cloud data platforms.Proven experience leading Microsoft Fabric or closely related Microsoft data platform implementations in enterprise environments, with architecture ownership from design through deployment and adoption.Experience delivering end-to-end platform implementations, including environment setup, deployment approach, governance model and transition into steady-state operations.Practical experience handling migration decisions, environment promotion, performance bottlenecks, capacity constraints, governance trade-offs and stakeholder adoption challenges.Demonstrated ability to bridge business and technology, translating complex architectural decisions into clear business language.Required SkillsStrong architecture expertise across Microsoft Fabric capabilities including OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory/Pipelines, Power BI, Real-Time Intelligence and Microsoft Purview.Strong understanding of governance and secure-by-design data solutions, including lineage, metadata management, sensitivity labels and Purview-enabled governance.Experience defining architecture patterns for lakehouse versus warehouse, medallion architecture, semantic models, serving patterns and Direct Lake where appropriate.Ability to design deployment structures across capacities, domains, workspaces and environments with consideration for governance, security, performance isolation and cost.Practical experience with Git integration, deployment pipelines and CI/CD in Fabric or equivalent Microsoft analytics environments.Strong technical grounding in SQL, with working knowledge of PySpark, KQL and DAX or semantic modelling where relevant.Ability to drive performance, resilience and cost optimisation across a modern enterprise data platform.Strong collaboration, technical leadership, stakeholder engagement and change management capability.Preferred QualificationsMicrosoft Certified: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate.Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate.Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.About AirswiftAirswift is an international workforce solutions provider within the energy, process and infrastructure industries.
