Industry: Data Center / Critical FacilitiesJob Title: Data Center BAS OperatorReports To: Data Center Facility EngineerLocation: Dammam, Saudi ArabiaWorking Environment: Mission-Critical, 24x7x365SUMMARY: The Data Center BAS Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining the Building Automation System (BAS) and critical facility infrastructure within a mission-critical data center environment. The role ensures continuous monitoring of HVAC, power, cooling, fire alarm, and environmental systems to maintain maximum uptime, reliability, and operational efficiency in compliance with data center standards and procedures.PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:BMS Monitoring & OperationsMonitor and operate the Building Management System (BMS) 24/7 to ensure optimal data center facility performanceContinuously oversee critical infrastructure alarms, trends, and system parametersRespond promptly to alarms, abnormal conditions, and equipment failuresEscalate critical incidents according to operational and emergency procedures.Infrastructure MonitoringMonitor critical systems including: Chillers and Cooling SystemsCRAH/CRAC UnitsUPS SystemsPower Distribution Units (PDUs)Generators and Fuel SystemsElectrical SwitchgearFire Alarm and Suppression SystemsEnvironmental Monitoring Systems.Incident ManagementInvestigate alarms and identify root causes of system abnormalitiesCoordinate with Facilities, Mechanical, Electrical, and Operations teams during incidentsMaintain accurate incident logs and operational reportsSupport emergency response activities and business continuity procedures.Preventive Maintenance SupportAssist maintenance teams during planned preventive and corrective maintenance activitiesReview work permits, Method Statements (MS), and Risk Assessments (RA)Monitor equipment during maintenance windows and report any operational deviations.Reporting & DocumentationMaintain daily operational logs, shift handover reports, and alarm recordsGenerate performance and trend reports from BMS platformsEnsure all operating procedures and documentation are updated and compliant with company standards.Health, Safety & ComplianceAdhere to data center operational standards, safety policies, and regulatory requirementsFollow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit-to-Work (PTW), and safety proceduresSupport audits and compliance inspections.Required QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Facilities Management, or related field5 years of experience in Data Center Operations, Facilities Management, or BMS OperationsExperience working with mission-critical facilities is highly preferred.Technical SkillsStrong knowledge of: Building Management Systems (BMS)HVAC and Cooling SystemsElectrical Power DistributionUPS and Generator SystemsFire Detection & Suppression SystemsData Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM)Familiarity with platforms such as Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, or equivalent BMS systemsAbility to interpret electrical, mechanical, and control system drawings.Key CompetenciesCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsStrong alarm management and troubleshooting capabilitiesAttention to detail and operational disciplineEffective communication and shift handover skillsAbility to work in a 24/7 shift environmentStrong commitment to uptime, safety, and operational excellence.Preferred CertificationsData Center Operations Certification (CDCP/CDCS or equivalent)HVAC CertificationBMS Operator CertificationOSHA / NEBOSH Safety CertificationElectrical Safety & LOTO Training.All interested applicants can also email their CVs to careers.escl@dhowsolutions.com with a subject line of “Data Center BAS Operator” mentioning their availability.
