Candidates in Texas and the Pacific NW are preferred, however this person can live anywhere USA as long as you're close to a major airport.Travel: 60-70% (project-based)Employment Type: Full-timeSalary: $70,000-$75,000Job SummaryThe Data Center Technician is responsible for deploying, installing, configuring, and supporting enterprise data center infrastructure. This role involves installing and positioning server racks, integrating server and network hardware, connecting power, managing cabling, performing hardware replacements, and assisting with system configuration during large-scale deployment projects.This is a hands-on position requiring strong mechanical aptitude, technical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in fast-paced data center environments. The ideal candidate enjoys working with hardware, is comfortable traveling extensively, and takes pride in delivering high-quality installations.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, place, level, and secure server racks and cabinets according to deployment specifications and floor plansConnect rack power whips to rack and/or facility power following established proceduresRack, stack, cable, and configure servers, switches, and other data center infrastructurePerform hardware installation, upgrades, and break/fix activities, including replacing servers, switches, power supplies, drives, and other componentsInstall, route, label, and manage copper and fiber cabling while maintaining clean cable management standardsSupport server and network hardware configuration and post-installation validationAssist with network connectivity and basic troubleshooting during deploymentsRead and follow deployment documentation, rack elevations, and installation instructionsStage, inventory, and prepare equipment for deployment projectsOperate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and lifts as neededMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentAdhere to all OSHA and customer site safety requirementsRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent2-4 years of IT, data center, infrastructure deployment, or related technical experienceExperience placing, setting, leveling, and securing server racksExperience connecting rack power to rack and/or facility powerExperience with rack and stack deployments in enterprise data center environmentsExperience with networking fundamentals and hardware connectivityExperience configuring server and network hardwareExperience replacing hardware components, including servers, switches, power supplies, drives, and related infrastructureStrong cable management and structured cabling experienceComfortable using hand and power toolsAbility to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work throughout the dayAbility to work effectively in a collaborative team environmentWillingness to travel up to 60-70%Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience supporting large-scale enterprise data center deploymentsExperience with Dell PowerEdge XE9680 and XE9780 GPU serversExperience installing and troubleshooting Dell PowerEdge servers or similar enterprise server platformsFamiliarity with structured cabling standards, server validation, and hardware testingExperience working in mission-critical or hyperscale data center environmentsCertification or experience operating electric pallet jacks or similar material handling equipment is a plusWork EnvironmentEnterprise data centers, warehouse facilities, and other deployment environmentsFrequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, lifting, and use of hand and power toolsWork may be performed in hot and cold aisles, raised-floor environments, and other controlled data center spacesPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required as applicableBenefitsOur comprehensive benefits package for full-time salaried employees is effective immediately upon the start date.
