Data Collection and Operations Intern

We're looking for a Data Collection and Operations Intern in NYC to help lead and coordinate our data collection. The models we build depend on high-quality real-world data, and this role is focused on making sure that data is collected smoothly, organized well, and ready for the ML team to use.You'll work closely with our machine learning, hardware sensing, and product teams. You'll help plan collection sessions, run them with real users, keep the data clean and organized, and act as the link between the people generating data and the team training on it.This is an on-site internship for current undergraduate or Master's students.What You'll DoDesign data collection protocol and implement data collection systems for the user studies.Plan and coordinate data collection sessions with real users, including scheduling and logistics.Run and support collection sessions, making sure protocols are followed and data is captured consistently.Build and maintain scripts and tooling for data ingestion, labeling, organization, and quality checks.Catch quality issues — noisy, missing, or mislabeled data — before they reach the ML team.Keep datasets and metadata clean, well-documented, and easy to query.Work with the ML, sensing, and product teams to understand what data they need, and flag gaps or issues early.What We're Looking ForCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.Strong organizational skills — comfortable handling scheduling, logistics, and coordinating with people and teams.Hands-on data skills: Python and comfort scripting basic data pipelines for cleaning and validation.Detail-oriented and quality-focused — you care that data is correct, well-labeled, and reproducible.Comfortable with messy, real-world data and shifting priorities.Experience with data pipelines, labeling/annotation workflows, or sensor/wearable data is a plus, but not required.DetailsHourly rate: $30-45/hourLocation: In-person, New York City
