Following a major private equity investment, the business is building its own data engineering team in Barcelona, and is hiring the first three people to shape it.The rolesLead Data Engineer (x1): a hands-on lead managing 3–5 engineers, setting the technical direction and working with an external delivery partnerData Engineer (x2): building and improving the large-scale pipelines behind products used by broadcasters, advertisers and agencies worldwideWhat you’ll doDesign, build and optimise data pipelines in PySpark and DatabricksWrite efficient, well-tested SQL and PythonAdd data quality checks, monitoring and automated testsContribute to CI/CD, code reviews and the team’s engineering standardsUse AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot and similar) as part of everyday workFor the Lead: mentor the team, set standards and work with stakeholders and the delivery partnerWhat you’ll bringHands-on experience with Databricks, PySpark and SQLExperience with Azure, or another major cloud platform and a willingness to move acrossPython (Java is a bonus), Git and orchestration tools such as AirflowA strong sense of ownership and a focus on data qualityFor the Lead: experience leading or mentoring engineersGood English and Spanish Why joinBuild, don’t inherit.
