Data Engineer – Snowflake

Team members work closely with clients from strategy through execution and ongoing support.Role OverviewThe Data Engineer will build, test, operate and support data pipelines and governed datasets on a Snowflake platform. The role will support both project delivery and day-to-day platform operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain data ingestion, transformation and loading pipelines into Snowflake.Build and support data models, tables, views and curated datasets across Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum layers.Develop SQL and Python/Snowpark code for data processing, validation and automation.Implement data quality checks, reconciliation and error handling.Support data refreshes, investigate pipeline failures and resolve data issues.Support user access provisioning, including roles, domains, workspaces and access testing.Assist with the implementation of RBAC, data classification, masking policies and secure data sharing.Support deployment and testing of Snowflake changes through GitLab CI/CD.Work with business users to clarify data requirements and support reporting, analytics and application use cases.Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks and data definitions.Required Skills and ExperienceAt least 3 years (5 Years will be considered as senior) of data engineering experience.Hands-on experience with Snowflake and strong SQL skills.Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and working with structured and semi-structured data.Experience with Python; Snowpark experience is preferred.Experience with data modelling, data quality checks and troubleshooting.Familiarity with Git, CI/CD and Agile delivery practices.Strong problem-solving and communication skills.Preferred ExperienceExperience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage and Power BI.Experience with Snowflake features such as Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Dynamic Tables and secure data sharing.Experience with Snowflake access control, roles and data masking.
