Data Governance LeadSalary: Up to £80,000 + bonus & benefitsWe’re recruiting for an experienced Data Governance Lead to take ownership of an organisation-wide data governance framework and help shape how data is managed, trusted and used across the business.This is a senior role with responsibility for defining and embedding the governance strategy, operating model, standards and controls that support analytics, regulatory compliance, transformation programmes and future AI use cases.You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, architecture, engineering, data protection and wider business teams to ensure governance is embedded into day-to-day operations rather than treated as a standalone function.Key responsibilities:Define and own the enterprise data governance strategy, policies and operating modelEstablish clear data ownership and stewardship across business domainsLead data quality frameworks, controls, metrics and remediation activityGovern metadata, data definitions, business glossaries and lineageEmbed governance into architecture, engineering and data migration programmesSupport privacy, security and regulatory complianceDrive adoption, accountability and cultural change across the organisationWe’re looking for:Strong experience leading enterprise data governance initiativesGood knowledge of data management frameworks such as DAMA-DMBOKExperience with cloud data platforms, ideally Azure and DatabricksFamiliarity with Databricks Unity CatalogStrong experience across data quality, metadata, lineage, stewardship and ownershipExcellent senior stakeholder management and influencing skillsExperience within insurance or another regulated environment would be beneficialThis is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategy with practical delivery and wants to play a key role in developing a mature, enterprise-wide data governance capability
