Data Management Office Director

We are seeking an experienced leader to join a Government Entity in Saudi Arabia as:Data Management Office DirectorThe Data Management Office Director will be responsible for leading the organization’s data management and governance agenda, establishing the required frameworks, policies, and operating models to ensure data quality, compliance, and effective utilization of data across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the organization’s Data Strategy and Data Management Office roadmap in alignment with organizational objectives and national data regulations and standards.
• Establish and oversee data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures across the organization.
• Lead initiatives related to data quality, data classification, data protection, metadata management, and data lifecycle management.
• Oversee the development and continuous improvement of policies and procedures governing data management practices.
• Enable effective use of data to support executive decision-making, organizational performance, and strategic initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with applicable national data management, governance, and protection requirements.
• Establish clear data ownership, stewardship, and accountability models across business functions.
• Oversee initiatives related to data sharing, open data, master and reference data, and other relevant data management domains.
• Define and monitor Data Management Office KPIs, data maturity indicators, compliance metrics, and data quality performance.
• Promote a data-driven culture and increase organizational awareness of data governance and management practices.
• Build, lead, and develop the Data Management Office team while ensuring effective delivery against strategic priorities.Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• Strong professional experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Quality, or related disciplines, including leadership or managerial experience.
• Strong knowledge of data governance and data management frameworks, standards, and best practices.
• Solid understanding of Saudi national regulations and requirements related to data management, governance, and protection.
• Proven experience in leading strategic data initiatives and engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, strategic planning, stakeholder management, change management, and executive communication capabilities.
