Data Platform Administrator

We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure our enterprise data platforms across cloud and hybrid environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, scalability, and security of modern data platforms supporting business intelligence, analytics, and enterprise applications.This role requires strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure data services, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, and enterprise databases while working closely with Data Engineers, Architects, Security, and BI teams.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and maintain enterprise cloud data platforms and supporting infrastructure.Manage Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, Databricks, Snowflake, and Azure Data Lake Storage environments.Monitor platform health, availability, storage utilization, compute performance, and capacity planning.Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot production data platforms for maximum uptime.Administer Identity & Access Management (RBAC), security policies, and user provisioning.Support ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and other orchestration tools.Perform platform patching, upgrades, maintenance, and change management.Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures.Investigate platform incidents, root cause analysis, and performance bottlenecks.Develop automation scripts using PowerShell, Python, or SQL to improve operational efficiency.Collaborate with Data Engineers, Data Architects, BI Developers, and Infrastructure teams.Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and platform standards.Ensure compliance with security, governance, and data management policies.Participate in on-call support and major incident resolution for production environments.Required ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.8–10 years of experience administering enterprise data platforms.Minimum 5 years of experience supporting Azure cloud environments.Experience supporting mission-critical production systems with high availability.Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.Experience working within ITIL-based operational environments.Technical SkillsData PlatformsMicrosoft FabricAzure Synapse AnalyticsAzure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)DatabricksSnowflakeCloudMicrosoft Azure (Mandatory)AWS or Google Cloud (Preferred)Data IntegrationAzure Data Factory (ADF)ETL / ELT PipelinesData OrchestrationDatabasesSQL ServerAzure SQL DatabasePostgreSQLMonitoring & AutomationAzure MonitorLog AnalyticsPowerShellPythonSQLSecurity & GovernanceAzure RBACMicrosoft Entra ID (Azure AD)Backup & Disaster RecoveryData GovernanceSecurity Best PracticesPreferred CertificationsMicrosoft Certified: Azure Administrator AssociateMicrosoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer AssociateMicrosoft Fabric Analytics Engineer AssociateDatabricks Certified AssociateSnowPro Core CertificationKey CompetenciesAdvanced troubleshootingPlatform administrationPerformance tuningCloud operationsAutomationProblem solvingStakeholder communicationDocumentationTeam collaborationContinuous improvement
