Data Platform EngineerWork Location: Saudi Arabia (KSA)Experience: 3–5 YearsEducation: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related fieldEngagement Duration: 3–5 MonthsEnvironment: On-Premises | Dev, QA & ProductionJob SummaryWe are looking for a skilled Data Platform Engineer with hands-on experience in installing, configuring, administering, and supporting modern data platforms in an on-premises environment.The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Platform Administration, MinIO (+ Apache Iceberg), and either Starburst or Dremio, along with experience in Linux, VMware, Git, and enterprise security integrations.The role will focus on implementing and supporting reliable, secure, and scalable data platform environments across Development, QA, and Production.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and administer data platform components across Dev, QA, and Production environmentsDeploy, configure, and support MinIO (+ Apache Iceberg) and Starburst or DremioManage data platform deployments on VMware-based on-premises infrastructureIntegrate platform components with Git and enterprise security components, including IAM and PAMConfigure authentication, authorization, access controls, connectivity, and security certificatesMonitor platform performance, availability, capacity, and overall healthTroubleshoot platform, infrastructure, configuration, integration, and connectivity issuesSupport platform upgrades, patching, backup/recovery, and routine operational maintenanceEnsure platform configurations follow security, availability, and operational requirementsCollaborate with Data, Infrastructure, Security, and DevOps teams during platform implementation and supportMaintain technical documentation, platform configurations, deployment procedures, and operational runbooksMust-Have SkillsKey SkillsPlatform Administration | MinIO (+ Apache Iceberg) | Starburst OR Dremio Strong hands-on experience in Data Platform Administration, including installation, configuration, administration, maintenance, and troubleshootingHands-on experience with MinIO (+ Apache Iceberg) in a Data Lake or Data Lakehouse environmentHands-on experience with Starburst OR DremioExperience deploying and supporting data platforms in on-premises environments.Experience integrating platforms with IAM/PAM and enterprise security componentsWorking knowledge of Git/version control and its integration with platform deployment or configuration processesGood understanding of Data Lake and Data Lakehouse architectureExperience managing and supporting Development, QA, and Production environmentsGood-to-Have SkillsApache SparkInformaticaDockerKubernetesCI/CD tools and practicesTerraform / AnsibleSQLMonitoring and observability toolsHigh Availability and Disaster Recovery conceptsBackup and recovery experienceEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.3–5 years of relevant professional experience in Data Platforms, Data Infrastructure, Big Data Platforms, or a similar technical rolePractical experience in enterprise or on-premises data platform implementation and administration is preferred
