We value individuals who are technically strong, delivery-focused, collaborative, and committed to solving complex engineering challenges.About the RoleThe Data Practice Lead owns the technical vision, capability building, and presales strategy for OBZ's Data practice — anchoring large-scale opportunities and ensuring what's sold can be delivered. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll architect and steer data platforms on AWS, build and scale engineering teams, and be the technical face of the practice in front of clients and senior stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesPractice Leadership – Define the roadmap for OBZ's Data practice, tracking market trends and emerging technologies.Platform & Architecture – Architect and oversee data engineering platforms — ingestion, warehousing, and lakehouse — on AWS.Team Building – Hire, mentor, and scale a high-performing data engineering team; build a culture of quality, automation, and ownership.Innovation & Offerings – Build differentiated solution offerings, use cases, and capability decks that position OBZ as a credible data engineering player.Asset Creation – Build reusable frameworks, accelerators, and an internal knowledge base from past projects.Solution Architecture – Partner with presales/account leads on medium-to-large opportunities; turn data strategy into proposal narratives.Bid Strategy – Own end-to-end proposal development for data-centric RFIs/RFPs.Executive Facilitation – Lead client-facing strategy sessions covering solution, delivery approach, and commercial terms.Cross-Functional Alignment – Be the bridge between Sales and Delivery — make sure sold scope is deliverable.Profitability Management – Own bid pricing and profitability models for Data practice deals.Qualifications12+ years in Data Engineering or Analytics, including experience leading a practice, COE, or large engineering team (20+).Hands-on depth on AWS and modern data engineering stacks — Spark, Databricks, Kafka, and equivalent ingestion/orchestration tools.Strong grounding in DevSecOps practices and enterprise data governance (MDM, data quality, cataloging).Proven presales experience — RFP/RFI response, solutioning, and CxO-level client engagement.Advanced Google Workspace, PowerPoint, and Excel.Required SkillsDeep, hands-on AWS experience across large-scale data platforms.A track record of building a data practice or COE from the ground up.Experience across regulated, enterprise domains such as BFSI, retail, telecom, or insurance.Preferred SkillsFluency in spoken and written English is required.Strong communication skills are important for engaging C-level stakeholders, presales teams, and delivery leadership across markets.Why OneByZeroOneByZero delivers production-scale agentic AI systems within some of the most complex enterprise environments across Asia Pacific.
