Together, this ecosystem touches over 30 million Vietnamese consumers across modern trade, FMCG, and F&B.We are hiring a Data Science Manager to lead a team of 5–10 Data Scientists solving high-stakes business problems in demand forecasting, pricing optimization, customer intelligence, and product recommendation — the models that directly move revenue, margin, and retention at scale. This is not a reporting-and-dashboard role. You will own model production. Your outputs go into operating decisions made daily by commercial, supply chain, and category leaders across the Group. What You'll DoLead, mentor, and grow a team of 5–10 Data Scientists across varying seniority levelsSet technical direction for the team's modeling stack — from feature engineering through model deployment and monitoringBuild a culture of rigor: structured experimentation, reproducibility, clear model documentation, and honest evaluation of what worksOwn and evolve the Group's core ML models: demand forecasting across SKUs and stores, dynamic pricing, customer segmentation, churn prediction, cross-sell/upsell recommendationPartner with Data Engineering to ensure feature quality, pipeline reliability, and data contracts that support production-grade MLDefine and track business KPIs tied to model performance — not just RMSE and AUC, but GMV lift, stockout reduction, margin improvementTranslate ambiguous business problems from commercial, supply chain, and category teams into scoped DS workstreams with clear success criteriaCollaborate with the AI/GenAI team on shared infrastructure: where ML outputs feed LLM workflows and where agentic systems require reliable signals from upstream modelsPresent model insights, experiment results, and roadmap priorities to CDO and senior business stakeholders — in the language of business outcomesBuild the team's technical roadmap 6–18 months out, balancing quick-win delivery against foundational capability-buildingEstablish modeling standards: versioning, A/B testing discipline, model cards, and handoff protocols to engineering for productionWhat We're Lookin6+ years in Data Science with at least 2 years managing a DS team (3+ people)Proven experience applying ML to FMCG, retail, e-commerce, or consumer goods business problems — you understand the supply chain logic behind a forecast, not just the mathDeep proficiency in classical ML and statistical modeling (gradient boosting, time series, survival models, clustering); solid Python, SQLTrack record of taking models from prototype to production, with real business metrics to show for itStrong communicator — can write a model brief a commercial director will actually read, and present experiment results a CFO can challenge Experience in a centralized / Center of Excellence data function serving multiple BUs simultaneouslyFamiliarity with modern data stack: dbt, Airflow, MLflow or equivalent, feature storesWorking knowledge of GenAI/LLM architectures — enough to partner intelligently with an AI team and evaluate where agentic AI intersects with your models' outputsExposure to WMS/ERP data environments (SAP, Oracle) common in large Vietnamese conglomeratesWhy this roleScale: Your models run on data from 3,500+ WinMart points of sale, millions of loyalty members, and supply chains covering most of VietnamMandate: Masan's centralized data function has full executive sponsorship — you are not fighting for data access or engineering resourcesTeam: You inherit a team with genuine DS capability, not a team that needs to be rebuilt from scratchAdjacency: Direct proximity to the AI/GenAI team building agentic products — the 2026 landscape rewards DS managers who understand both worldsTrajectory: Clear path to Head of Data Science as the function scales
