This strong track record offers mentors the opportunity to impact future tech professionals at scale.Role Description The Data Science Mentor role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Kanyakumari district. The mentor will guide learners through core and advanced data science concepts, review projects, and provide structured feedback to help learners build industry-ready skills. Day-to-day responsibilities include delivering interactive sessions, clarifying doubts, demonstrating real-world use cases, and supporting learners with interview and placement preparation. The mentor will collaborate with curriculum designers to refine learning materials, contribute to assessments, and stay current with data science tools and best practices. The role also involves monitoring learner progress, offering individualized mentorship, and fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment.Qualifications Candidates should possess strong data science fundamentals, including statistics, probability, and basic machine learning concepts.Candidates should possess hands-on programming skills, ideally in languages such as Python or R, and familiarity with data manipulation libraries and tools.Candidates should possess practical experience with data analysis, visualization, and use of tools like SQL, spreadsheets, or BI platforms.Candidates should possess clear communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics in an accessible, learner-friendly manner.Candidates should possess mentoring or teaching aptitude, including patience, empathy, and the ability to provide constructive, actionable feedback.A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (such as Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or Engineering) is preferred.Prior industry experience in data science, analytics, or software development, as well as experience guiding projects or teams, will be an advantage.Comfort working in an on-site academic or training environment in Kanyakumari district and a commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive learning space are beneficial.
