Job title: Data Scientist Industry: TechnologyContract duration: 12 monthsLocation: London Waterloo, 5 days onsiteDay rate: Up to £670 per day The role:Design and deploy machine learning algorithms for industrial applications such as fraud detection and predictive maintenanceWork with time series data and dynamical systems, including cleansing, normalisation, and analysisBuild and deploy scalable ML solutions using approaches such as MapReduce and streamingDevelop software using JavaScript, Java, and Python across the stackBuild and maintain frontend components using frameworks such as React, Redux, Vue, Backbone, or AngularDeploy software to at least one major cloud platform, GCP, AWS, or AzureWork with SQL and NoSQL databases to support data-driven applicationsApply strong data structure and algorithm design skills to real-world engineering problemsOperate within an Agile software development environmentBring domain expertise from sectors such as Aerospace, Financial Services, Healthcare, Industrial Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Public Sector, Power & Utilities, Supply Chain, or Telecommunications Skills needed:Strong software development experience with JavaScript and Java or PythonExperience with Git or other version control softwarePractical experience with time series analysis and dynamical systemsA portfolio of relevant work, GitHub, papers, or similarSolid understanding of common machine learning techniques, applications, and trade-offsExperience deploying to leading cloud platformsUnderstanding of SQL and NoSQL databasesWorking knowledge of Agile methodologySecurity clearance required for this roleResearch shows men will apply for a role when they meet only 50 to 60% of the requirements, while women and other underrepresented groups tend to apply only when they meet 90 to 100%.
