They start with understanding the problem, exploring and understanding the available data, identifying the right approach, proving that it works, and turning it into a solution that can actually be used.If you enjoy walking down this path, solving complex problems and turning ideas into working solutions together with experts from various fields, you have come to the right place.What you will be doingUse data science and AI to solve real-world business problems, optimize processes and create new products and services.Explore, preprocess and analyze data, identify patterns and assess what can (and cannot) be achieved with the available information.Select appropriate analytical approaches and develop, train, and evaluate models.Develop prototypes and turn successful experiments into maintainable, reproducible, and production-ready solutions.Explain insights, results, and technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Collaborate closely with data & AI experts, software engineers, business design experts, service & UX designers, and our clients throughout the solution lifecycle.Take ownership of technical tasks and contribute to architectural and solution-design decisions.Proactively contribute to good practices, reusable components, and our data & AI capabilities.What you need to haveAt least 2 years of applied data science / machine learning experience, ideally working on real-world problems beyond experimentation.Strong Python skills and experience with writing clean, structured, and maintainable code.Solid knowledge of common data science and machine learning tools and libraries (e.g. pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).A strong understanding of statistics, machine learning fundamentals, model validation and evaluation.Experience working with SQL and relational databases.Experience with Git and common collaborative software development practices.A hands-on approach and willingness to dive into new business domains and technologies.A collaborative mindset and motivation to share knowledge and develop solutions together with others.Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts and results to stakeholders with different levels of technical expertise.Full professional proficiency in English (verbal and written), German is a plus.A valid work permit for Austria.Great if you also bring any of the followingExperience with generative AI (e.g. LLMs, VLMs, RAG) or agentic AI systems.Experience with optimization, simulation, time series or probabilistic modelling.Familiarity with MLOps / LLMOps, model monitoring and AI observability.Experience working with modern data platforms and data warehouse/lakehouse environments (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric).Experience with data and ML pipelines and tools such as dbt, DVC or similar technologies.Experience with Docker, APIs, and integrating ML models into larger software systems.Experience working in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS or GCP.Experience with data visualization and BI tools such as Power BI.Experience working directly with clients.You don't need to tick every box. Depending on your qualifications and experience, the salary is typically around €4,000 gross per month, with the possibility of overpayment for relevant experience and special qualifications.
