Data Science Manager | Global Conglomerate | AIYour new companyThis prestigious Global Conglomerate is looking for an experienced Data Science Manager to join its dynamic business here in Hong Kong to lead a team of data scientists in developing and delivering AI solutions that create measurable business value here in Hong Kong. Your new role Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities where Data Science, Machine Learning, and AI can drive commercial value.Lead the delivery of AI and Data Science initiatives from problem definition through deployment and business adoption.Translate business requirements into analytical approaches, technical solutions, delivery plans, and measurable success metrics.Provide technical leadership across machine learning, statistical modelling, Generative AI, and AI-driven solutions.Review solution designs, modelling approaches, code quality, and production readiness to ensure scalable and reliable delivery.Collaborate with Business, IT, Data Engineering, Product, and Project teams to manage dependencies and drive successful outcomes.Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions constructively, and align priorities across teams.Communicate complex analytical findings and AI concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.Lead, coach, and develop a team of Data Scientists, supporting performance, career growth, and technical excellence.Drive innovation through the adoption of new AI technologies, best practices, and continuous improvement in solution delivery.What you'll need to succeedBachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.At least 1 year of formal people management experience, including coaching, performance feedback, and team development.Strong hands-on experience in machine learning, statistical modelling, and Python development.Proven experience delivering Data Science or AI solutions into production.Strong technical judgement with the ability to evaluate modelling approaches, review solution designs, and challenge technical decisions.Practical understanding of Generative AI, including LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, and evaluation methods.Strong commercial acumen and the ability to connect AI opportunities with measurable business outcomes.Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous business problems, develop analytical approaches, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.Experience leading project delivery, managing priorities, and coordinating cross-functional dependencies.Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence senior business stakeholders.Experience in Data Science, AI, or analytics consulting, particularly in business-facing advisory and technical delivery roles.Experience developing business cases and evaluating the commercial impact of analytical solutions.Experience developing or deploying agentic AI applications.Familiarity with cloud AI platforms, MLOps, LLMOps, and production AI systems.Experience managing multiple AI initiatives or collaborating with geographically distributed teams.Experience improving AI development efficiency through automation, reusable components, or GenAI.Strong communication skills in English and Cantonese.What you'll get in returnMarket Leading Compensation PackageHigh exposure to cutting-edge AI projectsStable Working CultureWhat you need to do nowFor further details or a confidential discussion on other opportunities in Technology, please contact Kelvin Chung at Hays on 2101 0046 or email Kelvin.Chung@hays.com.hkIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.
