We support thousands of customers nationwide with services performed to NIST traceable standards under A2LA ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL accreditation.Position Overview:We are seeking a Database Support Specialist reporting to the Technology Program Manager and serving as the primary point of contact for day-to-day support of the company’s database system, which supports lab operations, shipping & receiving, customer service, and sales.This role is best suited for someone who thrives in a support-focused environment and enjoys troubleshooting, documentation, and workflow improvement. The environment is highly customized and training will be provided Experience working with relational database systems is helpful for understanding the technical environment and workflows this role supportsResponsibilities:Serve as primary support contact for the company’s SQL-based RDBMSTroubleshoot functional, performance, and UI issues for internal usersMaintain data integrity, accuracy, and system reliabilityImplement and support system configuration changes as business needs evolveLog, track, and manage support requests using Jira or similar tools; escalate issues as neededTest system updates, patches, and releases prior to production deploymentMaintain strong vendor relationships and follow up on open issuesDevelop and maintain knowledge of database tables, fields, and workflowsCreate and maintain system documentation and end-user training materialsTrain users and support system adoption across departmentsManage user access, roles, and credentialsMonitor system logs for usage, audits, and configuration changesMaintain sandbox environments, including access and refresh cyclesMaintain backups of system configurations and ensure recovery readinessCollaborate cross-functionally with operations, shipping/receiving, customer service, and sales to improve workflowsMaintain communication with the manager on issues, enhancements, and prioritiesSupport multiple locations as needed, including remote support or occasional on-site travelRequirements and Skills:Minimum 2 years of technical support experience working with or supporting an RDBMSExperience with systems such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or SQLiteBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fieldStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to support both technical and non-technical users effectivelyStrong communication, organization, and time management skillsAbility to document processes clearly and accuratelyComfortable working in highly customized, workflow-driven database environmentsDetail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesBenefits: MQC offers comprehensive benefits includingBenefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k) w/ 4% match; paid vacation.Incentives & Recognition: Referral bonuses, team appreciation, holiday events, team outings.We are an Equal Opportunity EmployerMQC is an Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Employer.
