About the RoleWe are looking for a highly motivated and hands-on Data Team Lead to drive the evolution of our data capabilities. This role combines team leadership, data strategy, analytics expertise, and technical innovation. You will lead a small team of data and BI analysts while modernising our data infrastructure, improving operational efficiency through automation, and exploring AI and Large Language Model (LLM) applications to unlock new ways of discovering, analysing, and delivering insights.As a key partner to business stakeholders, you will ensure data remains a strategic asset that supports commercial growth, operational excellence, and product innovation.The companyDataxis is a business intelligence and analytics company headquartered in Berlin with offices in Mauritius, Paris and Buenos Aires. The company, controlled by its top management and backed by private investors, currently operates within two primary areas:Data collection and analysis to provide in-depth indicators, forecasts, reports and insights to a portfolio of media and telecommunication clientsCorporate events planning: more than 20 on-site conferences will be held in 2026 on top of many digital events, gathering executives in four regions (Europe, Middle East North Africa, North America and Latin America) to discuss topics including TV broadcasting, sports distribution, advertising, content production and innovationKey responsibilitiesTeam Leadership & StrategyLead and develop a team of three data and BI analysts by clearly defining priorities, allocating resources and ensuring successful delivery of projects and business objectives.Establish best practices in data management, analytics and development.Act as the primary point of contact for data-related initiatives across the organisation.Data Infrastructure & Technology ModernisationDesign and execute the roadmap for modernising the company's data infrastructure, architecture and technology stack.Improve scalability, reliability and performance of data systems and workflows.Reduce manual intervention by identifying opportunities to automate data collection, processing, reporting and operational tasks.AI, Automation & InnovationEvaluate and implement new technologies, tools and methodologies that enhance data capabilities.Lead initiatives leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI to improve data discovery, analysis, enrichment and knowledge extraction.Data Analytics & Business IntelligenceAct as a liaison between analysts, sales, marketing, product and IT teams to gather requirements and drive key operational metrics.Identify, validate and leverage structured and unstructured datasets to generate advanced business insights.Develop and maintain dashboards, reporting frameworks and self-service analytics solutions for internal stakeholders and external clients.Support operational and analytical needs by transforming complex datasets into actionable visualisations, reports and recommendations that drive commercial decisions.Take personal accountability for project execution, delivery quality and committed timelines.Explore new data sources and data acquisition methods to strengthen the company's information assets and analytical capabilities.Your profileHands-on experience with BI and data visualisation platforms like Power BI or Tableau.Strong understanding of modern data architectures and cloud-based data platforms.Experience automating data processes and implementing scalable workflows.Solid hands-on experience with dbt (or similar modern transformation tools).
