Database Engineer / DBA (L2/L3)

About the RoleSpecialized Enterprise Systems (SES) is hiring a Database Engineer / DBA (L2/L3) at a client site in Saudi Arabia. The role is responsible for the administration, maintenance, monitoring, optimization, and support of enterprise database platforms within a mission-critical data center environment. The role provides advanced Level 2 and Level 3 support to ensure the availability, performance, security, and integrity of business-critical databases.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister, monitor, and maintain enterprise database environments, including Oracle Database, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and other supported database platformsProvide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support for database-related incidents, service requests, and problem management activitiesEnsure high availability, performance, reliability, and security of all database systems supporting mission-critical applications and servicesPerform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning activitiesMonitor database health, capacity utilization, storage growth, and performance metrics, proactively identifying and resolving potential issuesConduct database performance tuning and optimization, including query tuning, indexing strategies, workload analysis, and resource managementManage backup, recovery, replication, clustering, and high-availability solutions to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readinessRequirements7+ years of experience in enterprise database administrationBachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related fieldWilling to relocate to the client site in Saudi Arabia within 2 monthsStandard shifts with 24x7 on-call rotationSkills and TechnologiesDatabase Administration (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)Database Performance Tuning & OptimizationBackup, Recovery & Disaster RecoveryDatabase Security & ComplianceHigh Availability & Clustering TechnologiesReplication & Data Protection SolutionsSQL Scripting & AutomationCapacity Planning & Performance MonitoringIncident & Problem ManagementChange & Release ManagementPreferred CertificationsOracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft SQL Server Certifications, PostgreSQL Professional Certification, MySQL Database Administrator Certification, ITIL Foundation Certification
