Apply & track with Apply EdgePosition SummaryThe Lead Installation Technician leads on-site installation crews (Level 2/3 resources) at the CBTS iCenter in Edison, NJ where equipment cabinets are built and integrated for rack & stack deployment. The role carries equal responsibility for two core disciplines: hands-on cabinet and hardware installation, and DC power installation/maintenance work. Success in this role requires depth in both areas, not just one.Crew Leadership• Leads installation crews consisting of Level 2/3 resources, owning execution and quality of the work.Core Area 1: Cabinet & Hardware Installation (Rack & Stack)• Equipment installation experience, including servers and switches, as part of full cabinet build and integration.• AC power, copper & fiber installation experience, including:– Cable routing– Installation standards knowledge– Cable testing & cleaning– Cable dressing / termination– Cable labeling• Running vendor-specific tests/diagnostics on cables and computer systems and/or components.– Fiber tester experience (Fluke preferred).Core Area 2: DC Power Installation & Maintenance• Prior DC power experience, including items such as:– Secondary power required– Circuit modifications– Power transition work– Addition or removal of batteries (preferred)– Addition or removal of circuits on working power distribution sources• Capable of adhering to DC wiring standards and methodologies (crimping, lacing/sewing/stitching, installing fish paper and p-tags).• Ability to read and interpret DC wiring / fuse panel diagrams.• Capable of installing cabinet/fuse panel and equipment ground bars/cable.Documentation & Procedure Execution• Ability to interpret and execute Method of Procedure (MOP) documents.Communication & Reporting• Strong communication skills, including:– Clear daily feedback regarding performance against delivery schedule– Escalation input for issues encountered– Customer interaction for survey data collection and progress communicationsProblem Solving• Ability to solve problems and overcome issues to maintain delivery schedule and avoid errors.– Willingness to reach out for input if required.
